TEAM-THUMPER

Our season has been a bit of a flatline! The bike has been harder to put together than we had thought, and we had a few hiccups along the way. You can keep up with developments and testing on the Team Thumper blog.

The British Supermono Cup is open to riders with a lower than "National" status on their racing licence. Andy is eligable for the Cup Class, and its shaping up to be a great season! Races are run with the British Supermono Championship, with the pack split as the aircooled and watercooled classes were previously.

Spannerman extrordinaire Boyd Brooks has been working wonders with the chassis, and Andy Duncan has been pulling in bucketloads of favours to get a running motor. Now its together and running, and we hope to able to turn a wheel in anger soon. And there's always 2009...

Our 2008 Bike

Its not quite ready yet! But here's some info:

Chassis:

Its a Tigcraft aluminium beam chassis. Oil is carried in the left hand front beam. Thats a self-supporting seat unit of carbon fibre, plus we've got a carbon fibre fairing and tank.

The forks are Kawasaki KR1S, and wheels will eventually be Yamaha FZR400RR

But we think she'll clean up well, and as we're really on a budget, on a "spec-per-£" basis, she can't be beaten.

Engine:
We plan to hang a Yamaha single-cylinder motor in between the black round things. Its a 660cc bottom end, with a 600cc top end, bored out to 640cc... Get that?? No, neither do we!
